The Leica DISTO D810 Touch is a 15 measurement mode LDM accurate to 1/16th of an inch. It features a touch screen UI, integrated digital camera, a tilt sensor, and Bluetooth Smart.
The D810’s exclusive Measure in Picture (MIP) technology can determine the height, width, area, diameter, or circumference of an object in a picture taken by the D810. Bracket your target using pointers on the touch screen to remotely measure the width of a second story window, the area of a billboard, or the diameter of an above-ground tank.
With a 600′-plus range, the D810 Touch can acquire a target that is well beyond your eye’s ability to see the laser point, especially outside. The point finder, a 4x zoom digital camera with cross hairs on the LCD display, solves this problem.
The farther you can shoot, the more obstacles there are to get in the way. Smart Horizontal allows you to shoot over obstacles so you can measure the level horizontal distance to your target.
At distance, even a small wobble in the tool translates to the laser point bouncing in wide arcs on your target. For best results when measuring long distances, keep your dot steady with a tripod and an adapter.

There is no need to get the tripod perfectly level. The D810 has a Smart Horizontal mode that uses the angle measurement provided by its tilt sensor to calculate the level horizontal distance to a target. The tripod just stabilizes the DISTO so your laser point doesn’t bounce around in wide arcs on your target when you are shooting long distances and/or trying to hit small targets.
The FTA360 / tripod combo helps you get the most out of the D810’s 4x zoom point finder and exclusive Measure in Picture (MIP) function. When you are zoomed in on a target and trying to locate the dot as close to the center as possible to get an accurate MIP, the FTA’s fine-tune knobs enable you to make small adjustments at the tripod so you can literally dial in your spot.

Features and Functions
360° Tilt Sensor: Functions that need to know the angle of the DISTO when the shot is taken are enabled by a highly accurate 360° tilt sensor that determines the angle of the laser. These include Smart Horizontal and Height Tracking modes.
Intelligent End Piece: The end piece is an integral part of the tool, connected to the circuit board. In the closed position the DISTO know to measure from its base. Flip it open 90° to align the base perfectly on an edge or corner. Flip it out all the way and you can put it in a corner to accurately measure diagonals. Otherwise, the width of the base would prevent you from getting all the way into the corner, rendering the measurement inaccurate.
Compass: The D810 touch is like that big Swiss Army knife you always wanted, the one with all the doodads. The compass is useful for answering questions like, “Wait. Is this the north elevation or the west elevation?” or “Which way am I facing?”
Height Profile Tracking: Measure slopes with multiple shots. Each shot is stored as a profile pair that references the step before it.
Timer: Set a timer to delay a measurement the same way you would with the shutter on a digital camera.
Touchscreen: The D810 is a touchscreen laser distance measurer. In addition to making it easier for you to switch between the functions, you can use familiar pinch and expand motions on the touchscreen to zoom the camera in or out. In Measure in Picture mode, you can tap an d hold the brackets used to identify the points in the picture that you want to measure.
